Email sharing setup

Wishlist allows customers to share their wishlist with friends and family via email. Merchants can configure sharing methods and templates in the admin.

Enable email sharing

Path: Genstore admin → AppsWishlist

  • In the Steps section, click Sharing settings.
  • Check Enable email sharing.
  • Configure email title and content as needed:
    • Subject: e.g., {Customer name} has shared a wishlist with you!
    • Body: Add personalized text with variables such as customer name and wishlist link.
  • Once enabled, customers can select “Share wishlist” on the storefront and send it by email.

Sharing experience

  • Recipients receive an email with a direct link to view and access the wishlist.
  • Works well for gift ideas, group buying, and social sharing, helping merchants reach new customers.

Email notification setup

Wishlist supports automated email reminders based on inventory or price changes, keeping customers engaged and boosting conversions.

Path: Genstore admin → AppsWishlist

  • In the Steps section, click Email notifications.
  • Choose which notifications to enable:
    • Low-stock alert
      • When a product in a wishlist drops below a set stock threshold, the system emails the customer.
      • Default threshold: 1 item (adjustable).
    • Restock alert
      • If a saved product is out of stock, the customer is notified when it’s available again.
    • Price change alert
      • Customers are notified if a wishlist product’s price decreases.

Best practices

  • Enable all three notifications to maximize engagement.
  • Emails automatically include product name, price, and a direct link for purchase.
  • Combine with promotions to improve conversion from restock and price drop alerts.

Storefront experience

Once enabled, customers can use Wishlist directly on the storefront.
